Saturday Scruples Questions: 1. Your lover isn't attentive unless someone else wants you. You have an admirer you don't like as much. Do you encourage the rivalry? No. I don't play games like that! 2. Excavating for your new house, you discover priceless artifacts from an ancient Indian village. If your property becomes a dig, constrctoin will be delayed. Do you keep quiet? No. I would want them to see what else may be buried there. (Maybe I'd make a few bucks?) 3. At the casino, you develop a rapport with the blackjack dealer. You give generous tips and s/he gives you an edge. Do you let the arrangment continue? First of all, I don't think that would happen. They have cameras everywhere......plus I don't frequent casinos, so I would never be involved in a situation like that. But IF that opportunity arose, I don't think I could stand it too long. I would feel to guilty. ~ Friday, March 28, 2003
Friday Five Questions of the Week: 1. What was your most memorable moment from the last week? I'm going to say when my daughter called me immediately after she got home from school to tell me about her report card. Yeah! 2. What one person touched your life this week? Well first of all, more than one person touched my life this week. If I had to choose one, I would have to say my mother. She sent me a really nice email and it made my day (to the point that I even went back and read it a few times.) 3. How have you helped someone this week? That's an easy one this week. The place I work at is holding their spring bazaar and I helped out by bringing some of the paperwork home, so they'd be ready for Saturday. 4. What one thing do you need to get done by this time next week? I have to create a flyer for someone whose having a family reunion this summer. 5. What one thing will you do over the next seven days to make your world a better place? I hope several things, but to narrow it down, just be nice to people. I think that affects us in a way we don't even realize sometimes. ~ Thursday, March 27, 2003
Thursday Thumb-Twiddler Questions of the Week: 1. You've been given $1 million to give anonymously to either charity or to a stranger. What would you do? That is NOT an easy question. I guess I would probably give it to a very worthy charity, because I think it would ultimately help more people than it would if I were to give it to only one person. 2. If the owner of a local gas station were caught dumping fifty gallons of used motor oil into the local storm sewer, what do you think the penalty should be? What if it were your neighbor dumping a single gallon? I'm not sure I could say what the penalty should be, but there definitely SHOULD be one. Isn't there a law out there somewhere with a penalty attached to it already? If it was my neighbor dumping a gallon, I think I would talk to the person and let them know what they did was wrong. I'm not sure I'd bring it to the authority's attention though. Hopefully, by bringing one's attention to a wrong-doing, it would raise their conciousness and they would think twice before doing it again. 3. Over the course of your life, what have you probably spent more time pondering than anything else? What people think about me. I don't know why, I'm just being honest. ~ Tuesday, March 25, 2003
This or That Tuesday Questions of the Week: 1. Poetry or prose? Give me prose! Some poetry is ok but I like mystery and drama. 2. Funky modern art or the older, "classic" variety? I'm not sure I prefer either. But I KNOW I don't go for the funky modern. 3. Sculptures or paintings? I don't own any sculpures, and as far as paintings go, nothing there either. 4. Theatre: exuberant musical or serious drama? I like musicals as long as they're not operas. 5. Ballet or modern dance? I don't really watch either. I guess it's an art I never really appreciated as much as I should. 6. Movies: major studio or indie? I guess I'd have to say major studio. 7. Authors: Shakespeare or Dr. Seuss? Dr. Seuss all the way! The only Shakespeare I ever read was required reading. 8. TV: PBS or A&E? A&E. I used to watch PBS with my kid when she was very little but that's about it. 9. Music: Beethoven or Beatles? Beatles. They're not one of my favorite groups but I must admit, I do own one of their cd's and I don't own any Beethoven. 10. Thought-provoking question of the week: You are a contributing member of your favorite art museum, and visit on a regular basis. They announce a new, temporary special exhibit by an artist surrounded by controversy...this person's work and/or political views offend you. Do you stop supporting the museum, or just stay away during the time the exhibit is there? I wouldn't stop contributing to the museum just because of one artist's views I don't agree with. I would stay away if it bothered me that much. (I think.) ~ Sunday, March 23, 2003
The following questions are taken from a previous week: 1. When someone compliments you, do you usually accept it, or suggest that you don't really deserve it? I have learned how to "graciously" accept a compliment, although it's not been easy. I've been told to just say "thank you." 2. Would you rather be overdressed for a social occasion (a party, let's say), or underdressed? If I'm going to be inappropriately dressed for an occasion, I'd rather be underdressed. At least I would be comfortable. 3. A cop pulls you over, and is going to write you a $100 speeding ticket. If he indicated that if you slipped him $50 in cash, he'd give you a pass, would you do so? Would it make any difference whether you'd actually been speeding or not? I would NOT give him $50.00 to get out of receiving a ticket. I would rather pay the $100.00 than to forever worry about where that actioin may take me in the future. If I wasn't really speeding, I would try to reason with him but still would not give him the $50.00. Questions from: Thursday Thumb Twiddlers |
