Yup! I do! Ok, one more time.......Saturday Scruples 1. You're on city council. Police want to place surveillance cameras on the downtown streets to deter crime and save money. Do you vote for it? I guess it might make people more aware of what they are doing and maybe force them to think about their actions but of course the people who will commit crimes probably won't think before they act anyway, but yeah, I would probably vote for it. 2. You've sold your house. Before you move out the roof starts to leak. Do you have it fixed? I'd like to think that I would. For one thing, would you want someone to do that to you? For another thing, it's the right thing to do. I mean, those peoplel buying the house would probably come back on you anyway and get you to pay for the roof so why not make life easy and just do it. 3. You have an Internet friendship which is pretty friendly. Your jealous mate demands you end this friendship Do you? I don't think I would have an online friendship that would be threatening to my relationship with my mate, but if I did, I guess if my mate meant that much to me, I may consider it. On the other hand, if it is purely innocent, I would like to think I'd put up a good fight. I mean I have rights to have friendships, even online ones. That was the weirdest thing. I have something that indicates that I've posted but no post! I'll see if I have to post my answers again... Friday Fives..... (who, by the way, had 619 people participate this week........hmmmmmmm.) 1. Would you consider yourself an organized person? Why or why not? Yes, for the most part. I even recently organized my digital photos on my hard drive (not done yet) and I'm FOREVER organizing stuff! 2. Do you keep some type of planner, organizer, calendar, etc. with you, and do you use it regularly? Heck ya! If I didn't carry my planner with me I wouldn't know where I was supposed to be half the time! Cleaning houses on the side keeps me quite busy. That is in addition to my regular job (which I don't need the planner for) and meetings, etc. I wouldn't be able to live without it now. I use it all the time. 3. Would you say that your desk is organized right now? Pretty much. I have a stack of papers on it right now that I need to go through but if I don't have at least 3 or 4 stacks of papers lying around the house I wouldn't have anything to live for! 4. Do you alphabetize CDs, books, and DVDs, or does it not matter? I don't see the point. I must admit, I tried alphabetizing cd's once and I soon realized that when I bought a new cd, I had to move everything that came after that one alphabetically. Not a good idea. Books and dvd's? Not those either. I have them all in one place and I figure that's plenty organized. 5. What's the hardest thing you've ever had to organize? Without a doubt: My digital photos! What a JOB!!! But as I mentioned in number 1, I am well on my way! Thursday Thumb-Twiddlers...Thpringtime Thursday 1. What is one event in the future whose outcome you would like to know right now? Hmmmmm.......can't really think of one that I would want to know about ahead of time. 2. If you were exiled from your country, and had only limited financial resources, where would you try to rebuild your life? I wonder if I would go to Canada; it's more familiar to me than other countries so yeah, that's probably where I'd go. 3. An eccentric millionaire hires you to spend $10 million to help society. What would you do with it? I would seek out organizations that help the poor working class (is that the right term? You know what I mean.) I think there's already a lot of programs (but probably not enough for sure) that help unemployed so I would want to help those who work for 'crap' wages. They don't make enough in one job to support themselves and their families so they have to take on two jobs. It's a crying shame. And I really don't know of any organizations that currently help that group of people. Of course I wouldn't give the whole 10 mill to them; I would try to find other worthy causes to donate to as well. ~ Thursday, May 08, 2003
3 for Thursday (#31) BEING SICK 1. What do you consider the worst short term ailment in order of magnitude of pain: a. Migrane b. Sore Throat c. Upset tummy (with any accompanying discomfort) d. Other (specify) Thank God I have never had a migraine (but I hear those are the worst!) I would have to say (b.) sore throat. I hate when it hurts to swallow! 2. When you're sick, what treatment/medication do you take and for what? a. Apirin/Tylenol b. Other Over-the-Counter remedy c. Prescription Drug(s) d. Home concoction (what exactly is it?) I usually try not to take anything unless I absolutely have to but if I'm sick enough to take something; (usually it's some type of cold) I will (b.) take some over-the-counter drug. If I catch it soon enough, it usually helps. 3. When you're sick, you: a. Immediately call the doctor b. Take one of the remedies in 2(a) - 2(d) above c. Do nothing and let it run its course d. Let your spouse/significant other listen/sympathize to your moaning and try to take care of you as best they can I'd prefer to let it run its course because sometimes it just comes right back after I think I'm all better but I'm not into pain so I do (b.) take one of the remedies above. Hmmmmmmm...........all b's! That was kind of fun and not too much thinking involved. I think I'll do this one for a while or maybe switch around some from now on. Another question from..............Random Quesionts; Random Days......brought to you by BLOGGERSEEDS... When is the last time you 'felt like an idiot' and why? Did you do something about it? Wow! (the real wow).....I know I've felt like an idiot a lot of times in my life; probably the last time I felt like an idiot was at work one day these guys (all parishioners of the church I work at) were at the Center to help set up tables for some function that was going on there. These people often come into the office to say "hi" and maybe have a cup of coffee, and ALL of them I've seen a number of times (you know how it is; the same people do everything). Well, I don't know where my head was at the time, but I said to the one guy, "Hi. And you are?" He said, "I'm Ed __________." I have seen this guy a million times and I don't know why I didn't recognize him that day! I felt soooooo stupid! (Ok; idiotic.) I tried to cover it up by saying, "Oh my gosh! It must be the cap you have on." DUH. This guy ALWAYS wears a cap! That is the last time I felt like an idiot. Very good question! Ok, not an answer to a meme but I wanted to share this site I found.............. IF YOU LIKE SHARING RECIPES, YOU JUST GOTTA VISIT this SITE!! You can post your own recipes on there with just a click of a 'link.' Cool! I will be posting my answer to today's random question from blogger seeds later today. Meanwhile, give that place a visit!!!! ~ Wednesday, May 07, 2003
This is NEW!!! Random Question of the Day.... from Blogger Seeds! Who is the oldest person you can remember... and what do you remember about that person? How old was he/she? The oldest person I can remember is a lady from my church. I only remember that she sang in the choir and she had trouble walking. Of course at 99 I guess that's to be expected! I like this!!! ~ Tuesday, May 06, 2003
This or That Tuesday... The Media Edition 1. TV or radio? Depends on what I'm doing and what mood I'm in. 2. On the radio: talk or music station? I like music! 3. Actual books or books-on-tape (or e-books)? Actual books 4. Actual newspaper, or web version? Can I lie? No, I really don't do either. I know; sounds like I'm really out of it! I DO turn the news on in the morning while getting ready for work though. 5. Wall Street Journal or National Enquirer? NEITHER! 6. TV news...news channel such as CNN, or your local broadcast news? local 7. A movie you've been looking forward to seeing gets bad reviews all around. See it anyway, or pass? I'd see it anyway. Half the time the movies they give bad reviews to are pretty good. 8. See movies when they first come out, or wait a few weeks for the lines at the theater to get shorter? Wait, but mostly because it's WAY cheaper! Usually wait until they come out on dvd. 9. TV: cable, satellite dish, or just plain old antenna? cable 10. Thought-provoking question of the week: If you had to choose only one form of media to come into your home, which would you choose...print (newspapers, magazines) or electronic (TV, internet)? Why? Electronic. Because you can watch tv and go on the internet. I would have a really hard time giving up the internet (more than anything.) ~ Monday, May 05, 2003
Monday Madness..... 1. When your telephone rings, do you drop everything to answer it? Yeah, what's up with that? I always thought how stupid we humans are (well, those of us who allow our phone to 'control' us like that) to do that. But it's a habit. Maybe because I work in an office and it's my job to answer the phone???? (I think I'm grasping at straws here.......) 2. What is the longest you've ever talked on the telephone? To whom? Hmmmmmm..............I don't generally talk on the phone too long; my ear starts hurting. But, the longest I've ever talked on the phone was probably an hour(?) To whom? Probably one of my family members. I know I've talked to my sister that long and probably my Mom a close second. 3. Do you own a cell phone? If not; why? If so, what was your reason for buying a cell phone; and would you ever consider cancelling your 'landline' service? Explain...... I do own a cell phone and still trying to get used to having it and USING it! Why? Well, by original reason may have had something to do with the fact that my daughter is gone here and there and needs rides and it's much easier to be able to call me when she's ready to be picked up than to guess on a time (for instance, when she goes to games at school...) Actually, I am considering cancelling my landline. I'm still a bit hesitant but I know I don't want to pay for both cellphones and the landline. With the free nights and weekends (considering we're at school/work 5 days a week) I think we could do it. ~ Sunday, May 04, 2003
