Just thought I'd try a new meme; Weekly Wrap Up

1. Do you like rain? Why or why not?
I don't really like rain if I have to go places. If I'm staying at home, it doesn't bother me as much. Of course if I wanted to do something outside then I would be annoyed. So, my final answer is No. I prefer sun.

2. As a child, what did you do when it rained?
I think we played inside. We played things like "Gilligan's Island" and "Timmy and Lassie." Usually if it was nice outside, we'd be out there riding our bikes so I guess we made up things to do inside.

3. What is currently your favorite rainy day activity? Why?
Probably my current favorite activity. Well, ONE of them anyway: the computer. I have lots of little 'projects' going on and I don't get to work on them as much as I would like to. You know, the job thing; the family thing, the keeping your house clean thing...........

4. Describe the best rainy day experience you've ever had.
I can't think of a particular 'experience' I've had when it's been raining outside. I guess sometimes it just gives me reason to stay inside and read a book, do some scrapbooking, or spend time doing things "because it's a good day to." You know, how people say, "Oh, it's raining outside. It's a good day to ___________."

5. Suggest a good video/DVD rental for a rainy day. Why did you pick this movie?
One of the more recent ones we've seen is "Maid in Manhattan." It's an enjoyable movie.

Thursday Thumb-Twiddlers............

1. Think of your ideal job. Now ... how little money would you be willing to do it for?
I'm not sure there's such a thing as "an ideal job." I think I like doing something, then when I HAVE to do it because it's a job; it's no longer as enjoyble. But I like my current job. I like what I do and I like the person I work for; I even like most of the people I work with! I guess I would do it for the same money I'm doing it for!

2. When is it appropriate to resign for one of your subordinate's actions?
Never! I think people should take responsibility for their own actions. If the supervisor played a part in what the subordinate did, that's a different story, but other than that, I'm sticking with my answer.

3. Why is it that whatever lane you're in on the freeway, that's always the slowest one?
Because that's my luck; or maybe it's because there are so many STUPID drivers out there. I see people driving all kinds of speeds in all the lanes. Do they have no clue that the right lane is for the s-l-o-w drivers???

What's On ....... Right Now? (a new meme)
What's on the front of your refrigerator Right Now?
~a dry-erase board with a cute cat on it~
~my kid's schedule for upcoming events at school~
~my kid's lunch menu for the month of May~
~three kitty magnets that came from Mexico~
~"what is courage" magnet~
~a bunch of other magnets; bugs bunny, teddy bears, eeyore, froggy, star, kringle, a couple magnets i made~

Random Questions; Random Days and This or That Tuesday
This one is from Random Questions..........
How do you divide your household chores? Including yard and vehicle maintainance.
I hate to admit it; (bad mommy) but divide is not a word I would use to describe our chores around here. Well, the kid takes out the trash, supposed to keep her room clean and her computer area clean. AND I make her pick up after herself.......you know, kids tend to start 'taking over' the house if you don't stop it! But no, she's a good kid and I know I should probably make her do more around here (I've heard it all before) but it works for us. She helps around here when I ask her to. As far as vehicle maintenance, neither one of us is good at that! (he, he) SOOOO, I take all my car problems to the step-kid. He does a great job!

From This or That...........
1. Packrat or minimalist?
I CAN'T be a packrat; no room! But the up side is I've learned how to organize and use all my area most efficiently!

2. Computer: desktop or laptop?
My preference is desktop. Although laptops certainly have their advantages; especially when you're not home.....

3. Seashore or mountains?
Seashore I guess. I love the water.

4. Carpeting or bare floors?
Depends on what KIND of bare floors.......and in what room. Kitchens and bathrooms: bare floor (carpeting sucks in the kitchen!); the rest of the house: give me carpet!

5. Drinking water: bottled or tap?
I bought bottled water once. It didn't really taste any different than tap water (in my opinion.) I do love having the bottles in the fridge though so you can just grab one when you're thirsty. So, I (the cheapskate that I am) wash the bottles out and fill them up with water. It works for me!

6. Shopping websites: eBay or Amazon?
neither

7. Cute little kitties or big scary tigers?
Cute KITTIES! I don't like scary things!

8. Front door or back door?
Haven't you ever heard the saying, "backdoor guests are best" ??? Backdoor. (Oh, wait; when I go to my parents' house, I use the front door. Forget what I said about backdoor guests. ok?)

9. Lots of jewelry, or little/none?
Too much jewelry can be annoying. I like simple things. I wear a gold chain always and a gold bracelet always; oh and my earrings. Other than that, none.)

10. Thought-provoking question of the week: At the last minute, you obtain tickets to an event you're dying to attend. However, you have to work that day! Do you ask the boss for the time off, or just call in sick?
Honestly? (I hate to admit this) I would probably call in sick........now let's try to justify my answer: See, when I want a day off, I have to find someone to cover for me. Well, when there's not enough time to do that, I figure I would call in sick because they can't get mad at you then. But then I would probably feel guilty. But I'm sure I could live with it. Plus, it would depend on the probability of someone I know showing up at this event. I'm stickin' with my answer: call in sick. (I know my boss isn't going to read this.)

Random Questions; Random Days....

What two television channels do you view most frequently? Name two of your favorite television shows....
I probably watch CBS more than anything else for their sitcoms and the other channel I watch frequently is 'Lifetime.' They have some good movies sometimes. I usually watch that channel on the weekends. (I don't really watch much tv but I DO enjoy the sitcoms and 'no-brainer' movies.) Two of my favorite shows: "8 Simple Rules........" and
"Survivor" when it's on. There's really quite a few sitcoms I watch but that's what I try to watch every week.

Monday Madness....

1. What make, model, and color of vehicle (price being no issue) have you always wanted to own?
I used to like the "Chrysler LHS" when it was new. I don't really get into cars as much as some people.Color? Probably black. I think that color looks sleek.

2. If you could add one feature to your current vehicle, what would you choose?
Anything that would make my car not slide around on the snow; something to make it heavier maybe. ????

3. You're driving down the road and you hear a police siren. What is the first thought that comes to mind?
To be honest, if the police is behind me, the first thing I do is look at my speedometer. (I often go a 'few' miles over the speed limit.) But almost immediately I look to see if I need to pull over. I HATE when people don't pull over for a police car to get through!!
