I have a few memes I'd like to participate in right now................ Random Questions; Random Days... According to my "Daily Close-Ups for Fall" book by Mary Magaldi, today is National Poetry Day. I think we should all write a short poem for today! It's the little things in life that usually get us down, But keep a positive attitude; wear a smile, not a frown. There are many ways to look at things, it all depends on you, Smile at everyone you pass today, and they will smile too. Soon you'll notice that things don't appear to be so bad, And all because you changed your attitude; aren't you glad? (Don't laugh; well, go ahead, I can't hear you anyway! Given more time, I probably could have come up with something better, but don't count on it!) What's On ..... Right Now?............... What's On your bookshelf Right Now? (pick a shelf; any shelf) I will pick the middle shelf of my computer desk; technically it is a bookshelf if it holds books, right? ~ "How to Use Adobe Photo Shop 7" ~ "Photo Shop 7 Down & Dirty Tricks" ~ "Photo Shop Elements 2: 50 Ways to Create Cool Pictures" ~ "How to Do Everything With Your Digital Camera" ~ "The Book of Positive Quotations" Lulu's Lines..................... There was a time...... when I was shy and insecure, and I would never recognize that person in me today. It wasn't all that long ago when I really think about it. I am still quiet around people I don't know and I don't tend to 'mingle' well at social gatherings (which is probably why I hate attending them.) But I know I have good qualities and I'm not afraid to let people see the real me. Sure, I still wonder sometimes what others think of me, but it doesn't stop me from BEING me. It did at one time; but I suppose I realized that life is too short to spend being someone you're not just to please another person (or persons.) I'm happy with myself (for the most part) and I have more confidence in who I am than probably ever before. Maybe this comes with age; maybe it comes with experience; maybe a little of both, but the bottom line is, I am who I am and I'm proud of it! (It's amazing what these triggers do to get me going!) ~ Monday, October 13, 2003
A little Monday Madness now.......... 1. How often do you change or add to your blogroll list? If you don't use blogroll, how often do you add or change links to your 'favorite reads' list? I don't add to it very often, and I rarely remove one from the list; only if it doesn't get updated on a semi-regular basis (meaning at least once a month!) 2. Do you visit your blogrolls regularly? If so, how often? Oh yeah! I visit some of them daily; some a couple times a week. 3. Do you visit other people's blogrolls or 'faves' list? I do. That's how I found some of the blogs I've decided to link to. I enjoy variety and it's too easy to get 'stuck' in the habit of only visiting certain ones. I find some pretty cool stuff out there by going blog surfing! 4. About how many blogs have you blogrolled (or have linked on your blog)? Now, don't you think I should have counted being I knew this question was on here? But no. I'm going to guess about 20 or 24. 5. Do you change your layout or color scheme regularly? If so, how often? If not, have you thought about changing the look of your blog? Feel free to elaborate! I don't change it on a REAL regular basis, although I've thought about it. I just changed it to reflect the fall season; that is, my 'other' blog. That's all folks.... ~ Sunday, October 12, 2003
Oops. I didn't follow through on my promise to answer more Random Questions the other day, so here I am.........there's 2 more. Did I miss this one on purpose? Here's a fanciful question taken from my book called, "Bright Ideas Calendar Activities" by Ginny McDonnell and Sue Mogard. What if colors could talk? Describe a conversation between two of your favorite colors, or, Name the colors that have the silliest, happiest or most serious personalities. I'm not sure I could describe a conversation between two colors but here goes; I'll try. "WHY are you always so gloomy?" asked red. "I'm not gloomy. I'm just not always 'glowing' like you are. Doesn't mean I'm gloomy!" replied gray. "Well let me see; let's compare how many of us 'glow' and how many of us look gloomy. We have purple, yellow, orange, pink, me (red), and all the colors in between these, oh and let's not forget bright blue and green! NOW let's count how many 'gloomy' ones we have. There's you (gray), black, brown, and hmmmmmmmmm. That's about it! I win!" Oh my. That was dumb. I think colors have a personality and colors we tend to use could reflect our personality. I like bright colors, but on the darker shade side. Wonder what that means? Thursday, October 9 This week is Fire Prevention Week. Do you have fire alarms placed in your home? Do they work? Yes, I have smoke detectors placed in my home; just two though. Both of them are working with good batteries in them. Oh and speaking of which, we're supposed to replace the batteries when we change over from or to daylight savings time. THAT will be coming up soon! Oh I hate to think about it. It'll be dark at 6:00 p.m. soon. That's about it. I hope there's a question for tomorrow. I think I'll answer the same day! |
